The season for picnics, park days, and fun times has arrived! To ensure that your days spent enjoying the outdoors with your babies and children are not overshadowed by health issues, you should be mindful of the possibility of your children getting spring allergies.

During the spring months, babies and children may experience respiratory issues. If your baby or child is showing symptoms such as a cold, runny nose, sneezing, or a dry cough, and you initially thought it might be a seasonal flu or cold, you should monitor the situation closely. Persistent cold symptoms may be a sign of allergic rhinitis or spring allergies.

Spring allergies in children typically appear after the age of 2. If a baby is predisposed to this allergy, it usually becomes noticeable after two spring seasons. Allergic rhinitis, also known as hay fever or spring cold, shares symptoms with seasonal illnesses.

Allergic rhinitis affects the upper respiratory tract and can cause symptoms such as headaches, inflamed nasal discharge, cough, and sneezing. In more severe cases, breathing difficulties may also be observed.

The cause of allergic rhinitis is primarily the pollen that appears in spring. Pollen, which we often breathe in during the blooming of flowers in the spring months, can have debilitating effects on children who are prone to allergies. Therefore, it's important to closely observe your child, especially in the early stages of spring, and consult a doctor if symptoms arise.

While there is no definitive cure for allergic rhinitis, it is possible to reduce the factors that affect quality of life with medication. This can help relieve your child, who may feel sick and affected in their social life due to the allergy symptoms. However, the effects of medication may wear off in the long term.

If medication proves insufficient, your doctor may suggest an allergy shot plan for your child. Allergy shots are typically administered every 2-3 weeks, so it’s useful to plan your holidays and travel according to this schedule. Skipping these shots can reduce the effectiveness of the treatment for allergic rhinitis.

To minimize the effects of allergic rhinitis, you can take the following precautions:

    • Keep your child away from smoke-filled environments.
    • Be cautious about spending too much time outside during spring, especially before 2:00 PM.
    • Ensure that your air conditioner filter is clean and well-maintained.
    • Keep the balcony door and windows closed during peak pollen times.
Avoid keeping pets with fur in your home.

Some children do not like meat, while others may not enjoy vegetables. For children who are picky eaters, sometimes combining ingredients they reject with other foods and presenting them as a mix can be a great solution.

By trying recipes that combine both meat and vegetables, you can prepare different flavors for your child. If your child loves a certain vegetable or another flavor-enhancing ingredient, add that to your recipe to make it more appealing and attract their interest. For example, if your child loves cheese, you can sprinkle grated cheese on top of the meatballs during the last 2-3 minutes of cooking to melt it, making the recipe even more enticing.

The chicken and carrot ball recipe is rich not only in protein but also in vitamins. The vitamin E, beta-carotene, and antioxidants in carrots are very beneficial for your child's eye health and immune system. Additionally, the apple, which is also rich in antioxidants and vitamins, helps protect the body from illnesses and boosts immunity. You can also add other vegetables to this recipe to make it more nutritious, based on your preferences.

    Chicken and Carrot Ball Recipe

    Ingredients:

    • 500 grams of organic chicken or organic turkey meat
    • 1/4 cup apple puree
    • 1/2 cup grated carrot
    • 1/2 cup well-washed and chopped organic spinach
    • 1/4 cup chopped fresh spring onion
    • 1 egg
    • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
    • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
    • Salt and pepper

    Preparation:

    1. First, grind the chicken or turkey meat in a food processor or meat grinder.
    2. Puree the organic apples.
    3. Grate the carrots and chop the spinach after thoroughly washing it.
    4. Tear the stale bread into crumbs to make it suitable for meatballs.
    5. Chop the fresh spring onions.
    6. Take a large bowl and combine all the ingredients, mixing carefully with your hands.
    7. Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F).
    8. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
    9. Roll the mixed ingredients into walnut-sized balls with your hands.
    10. Place the chicken balls spaced out on the baking sheet.
    11. Put the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes.
    12. The meatballs should begin to turn brown in color.
    13. If you don’t make the balls too large, you can get approximately 30-35 meatballs from this recipe. You can store the prepared meal in the fridge for up to 2 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.

From the moment children are born and start exploring the world, they begin to learn about animals through toys, characters on their clothes, and the stories they listen to. But can a child live with a pet? There are actually many benefits to having a pet in your child's life.

    Helps in Understanding Abstract Concepts

Sometimes children may ask questions that are difficult for parents to explain. These questions usually focus on abstract concepts such as birth, death, and family positions. Some parents may feel hesitant to talk about these topics, while others may try to explain them clearly but in a way that sounds like a conversation with an adult, which can result in unwanted outcomes. Abstract concepts also exist in the lives of pets, just like in humans. Experiencing these concepts through their pet can help your child grasp these abstract ideas more easily.

Your Child's Sense of Responsibility Develops

Now, there is something in the house that belongs to your child. Once your child learns that a pet is not a toy and has its own needs just like humans, you can give them some responsibilities regarding the pet. You should assign these tasks based on your child’s age and abilities. Responsibilities like feeding the pet regularly, taking care of its cleanliness, playtime, or grooming, will positively impact their sense of responsibility.

The Feeling of Achievement Is Reinforced and Their Confidence Grows

When your child fulfills the responsibility given to them, and they see how well the pet gets along with them and how happy its life is, they will feel that they have succeeded in their task. You can support them by verbally acknowledging their success. When your child realizes that fulfilling their responsibilities brings positive outcomes, they will be more likely to trust in themselves and feel more confident in completing future tasks.

Helps Relieve Internal Issues by Sharing Feelings

Pets often become one of their owners' closest friends, providing mental tranquility. The love bond between pets and children, one of the purest forms of affection, allows your child to share emotions they might not be able to express with others. In moments of loneliness, your child may replace the absence of something by bonding with the pet and, especially during family conflicts, develop a stronger psychological resilience.

What Should Be Considered Before Getting a Pet?

Before getting a pet, you should discuss what your child thinks about the idea. Introduce them to pets in outdoor environments before bringing one into your home. You should also check if there are any potential health issues for your child. Conditions like allergies that might appear later could lead to disappointment if your child has to part with their pet.

Consider your family’s financial situation and whether your home environment is suitable for a pet. Before deciding to get a pet, all family members should sit down together and reach a consensus.

The long-awaited day has come. The birth has happened, and your miracle, your one and only baby, is now in your arms. For you, the postpartum period begins now. What should you pay attention to during this 6-week period, when your body is adapting to life after birth?

    Prioritize Rest

The 9 months of pregnancy and the birth process return as significant physical exhaustion. Although your physical fatigue may not be fully recognized due to the rush and happiness of holding your baby in your arms, it is an issue that should be acknowledged and dealt with properly. A tired body needs proper care and, most importantly, rest. For this reason, try to avoid doing any work around the house other than simple tasks and focus on resting for a few weeks.

    Don’t Panic About Your Psychology

Even if you've dreamed about the days you'd spend with your baby during pregnancy and prepared psychologically, your life has now become an entirely different experience. This inevitably brings a period of acceptance and adjustment. During these days, when you're balancing rest with taking care of your baby, you may sometimes feel like baby care is taking over your entire life and that your entire future will be like this. However, don't panic—this is only a temporary phase. Once your body recovers and you get used to baby care, you will be able to organize your life and solve everything. Remember, once this phase passes, you will be able to enjoy joyful days with your new little family.

Find the Right Solution for Breastfeeding

While breastfeeding, your nipples might get irritated. To prevent this, you should start using natural oils and creams that are appropriate for this purpose, with the guidance of your doctor. If you’re unable to nurse your baby every time, you should find the best way to pump and store your breast milk. You can try using electric pumps, manual pumps, or hand expression, and choose the method that works best for you, ensuring that you pump your milk daily. This way, your partner can also enjoy the experience of feeding your baby and share in this special feeling.

Pay More Attention to Your Diet

After birth, as your body enters the breastfeeding period, you will lose a significant amount of iron and minerals. Therefore, you should consult with your doctor to create a suitable nutrition plan and, if necessary, start taking food supplements.

After childbirth, your digestive system may also be affected, and your bowel movements may slow down. To reduce the possibility of constipation, you should consume fiber-rich foods. These issues can be more challenging during this sensitive period when your abdomen and pelvis are more delicate, so it’s important to take preventive measures.

In the heat of summer, babies and young children also want to dress comfortably. Especially during the onset of the “terrible twos,” they begin to make their own choices—even when it comes to outfit combinations. While you're thinking about keeping them cool, preventing sweating and diaper rash, they might be wondering, “What color should I wear today?” or “What activity should I do today?”

During the summer months, the key is to choose clothing that is comfortable, breathable, and gentle on the skin. Families with children constantly playing in the garden, by the sea, or in the pool should be ready for at least 2 to 5 outfit changes a day.

If you're feeling tired of trying to decide what your baby or child should wear in these hot months, our list below might be just what you need.

    Don’t Dress in Layers

Overdressing a baby can have negative consequences. Summer babies, in particular, are more prone to sweating, so it's important to be mindful. In cases of sudden weather changes, layering your baby too much can cause them to catch a cold when they cool down while still sweaty. This can lead to unwanted issues like runny noses or colds, reducing the baby’s comfort and creating stress for you.

Don’t overlook one-piece outfits! Capri rompers for both boys and girls, and dresses for girls, are very practical choices for hot days.

    Choose Cotton Products

Clothing made from synthetic materials can cause skin issues—even eczema—on your baby’s or child’s sensitive skin. If left untreated, eczema can lead to skin thickening. Babies with a family history of allergies or asthma are particularly at higher risk when exposed to synthetic fabrics.

100% cotton short-sleeved bodysuits are a summer essential. On extremely hot days, simply dressing your baby in a bodysuit may be more than enough to keep them cool and comfortable.

    Choose Easy-to-Dress Clothing

When selecting baby clothes, the most important factors to consider are comfort, practicality, and the use of organic materials. Soft garments that are easy to put on and take off not only allow your baby to move freely but also contribute to better sleep comfort.

T-shirts and shorts are among the easiest items to dress and undress your baby in, making them ideal choices for everyday summer wear.

When babies go to sleep without feeling full, they tend to wake up frequently during the night. Over time, this can become a routine, and they may start needing extra food in the middle of the night. For this reason, many mothers feed their babies pudding made from rice flour or semolina before bedtime. Since this type of pudding is both filling and gentle on the stomach (non-gassy), it is commonly preferred as an evening meal for babies aged 6 months and older.

It’s also a mother’s role to help children develop a habit of eating fruits. By mixing fruits into supplementary foods, they can prepare nutritious, vitamin-rich meals. Among fruits, pears are high in fiber, rich in vitamins C and K, aid digestion, and support heart health. If your baby struggles with constipation, pear-based meals can be especially beneficial.

You can comfortably feed the recipe below to babies aged 7 months and up.

    Pear and Semolina Pudding

    Age Range:
Suitable for babies 7 months and older

    Preparation Time:
    15 minutes

    Ingredients:

    • 1 Soft Pear
    • 1 Tablespoon Semolina
    • 150 ml Water (Use organic whole milk for babies over 1 year old)

    Instructions:
Wash, peel, and grate the pear. Set it aside in a separate bowl.

In a small pot, combine 150 ml of water and 1 tablespoon of semolina. Stir continuously until it comes to a boil. Then add the grated pear to the mixture and continue stirring for another 5 minutes. Once the pudding is ready, transfer it to a separate bowl to cool.

You can store any leftovers in the refrigerator and feed them to your baby the next day.

After 6 months, babies begin to need complementary foods in addition to breast milk. At this stage, it is up to parents—especially mothers—to find baby food recipes that are both healthy and appealing to their little ones. In the early months, as babies' digestive systems are not yet fully developed, it can be challenging to introduce them to solid foods.

Pediatric experts recommend introducing the first solid foods after 6 months of age. This process is essential for helping babies learn how to chew and swallow. Babies who can sit up on their own, have started teething, and are able to grasp objects and bring them to their mouths are generally ready to start eating solids. We strongly recommend using organic ingredients for your newborns and young children.

You can easily feed your baby the carrot puree recipe provided below.

    Age Range:
Suitable for babies 6 months and older

    Preparation Time:
    20 minutes

    Ingredients:

    • 1 Carrot
    • 1 Potato
    • 1 Apple
    • 1 Teaspoon Olive Oil

    Instructions:
Peel and chop the carrot, potato, and apple, then place them in a small pot. Add warm water until the ingredients are just covered. Add 1 teaspoon of olive oil.

Once it starts boiling, reduce the heat and simmer for 15–20 minutes until the vegetables are soft.

Blend the mixture until smooth. You can adjust the texture according to your baby’s age and preference. Babies between 6–9 months usually prefer a thinner, more liquid consistency, while babies older than 9 months can handle thicker, chunkier textures.

Any leftover puree can be stored in the fridge for up to one day, or frozen in ice cube trays for later use.

One of our greatest desires as parents is to prepare our children — the most precious part of our lives — for the world in the best way possible, starting from the moment they are born. We know that a well-raised individual is the foundation and reflection of a healthy society.

From the very first months a baby begins interacting with the world, being in a peaceful and loving environment plays a vital role in their development. In addition to parental love, love for animals is also essential in raising babies as socially adaptive individuals.

In modern urban life, human interaction is often limited, causing children to grow distant from nature — and from the living beings that inhabit it. Experts say that one of the most effective ways to counter this is by spending time with animals, even caring for them at home. This not only broadens their perspective but also helps raise individuals who are more sensitive to the environment. It's a fact that love for animals plays a significant role in raising nature-conscious individuals. The seeds of compassion sown in early childhood will surely blossom as these children grow.

Children who talk to their pets often show accelerated language development. If they are an only child, they learn to share, to be patient, and to strive for what they want. Caring for a pet enhances their mental and emotional well-being, builds a sense of responsibility, and instills values like love, respect, and loyalty. Increased physical activity keeps them away from harmful habits, making pet companionship a scientifically supported choice in child development.

In addition, babies who grow up with animals naturally become familiar with life concepts such as birth, reproduction, and death. They learn to be good listeners, express themselves freely without fear of judgment or criticism, and overcome fears through empathy and emotional growth — all of which have been confirmed by scientific research.

We are confident that babies who grow up learning that other beings are also valuable — who grow up to be more giving, emotionally aware, and less self-centered — will one day build a healthier, more compassionate society.

As Organickid, we take pride in being an animal-loving company. We believe that an organic and love-filled life is every child’s most natural right. With the awareness that nature should continue to be a home for generations to come, we work with dedication and care.

That first moment is indescribable — a feeling that can only be truly understood when it’s lived. When you find out you’re going to be a mother, your days and nights are filled with thoughts of how your family will grow, and how your life will never be the same again. Your heart races with excitement and wonder — who will the baby look like? Will it be a boy or a girl? What kind of future awaits them? You even find yourself imagining their favorite foods, their career choices, and sometimes, you go as far as to picture the person they might one day marry. From that very moment, you’re instinctively programmed to do everything — and more — for their happiness and health. Even if it meant traveling to the ends of the earth, you wouldn’t think twice.

And yet, it is a challenging craft. Like an artist carefully creating a masterpiece, you nurture your child day by day — instilling emotions, love, respect, confidence, joy and sorrow, the good and the bad — offering the best of everything you know. Then comes the time to release them into the world. No matter how old they are, they’ll always be a part of you. While you’re navigating this emotional journey, family, friends, and those close to you start to observe every tiny movement your baby makes and shower you with gifts. Endless conversations begin over ultrasound photos. But for you, every gift is viewed through a more emotional and cautious lens — “Is it safe? Is it useful? Will it irritate their skin? Could it cause an allergy?”

And it’s exactly these concerns we set out to address when creating our brand. Our baby clothing is made from organic cotton, carefully crafted with all types of sensitive skin in mind. Our collection is made using organic yarns produced by Topkapı İplik, Turkey’s first organic cotton manufacturer. Each product is thoughtfully designed and produced with strict quality controls at every stage. Certified by GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard), our collection caters to babies aged 0 to 6. This certification covers a broad spectrum, starting from the agricultural process, guaranteeing that all raw materials are produced with environmental awareness and social responsibility, right through to labeling. It offers complete assurance that our products are truly organic. This globally respected and valid certification is the only one accepted in all major markets.

Empowered by this certification, our newborn collection — just like all our other products — is designed with care, produced using 100% organic cotton, and monitored at every stage. These newborn clothes are created with the same tenderness and sensitivity that begins in the womb, making them a trustworthy choice for expecting parents. Our joyful designs are perfect for eco-conscious parents who prioritize their baby’s health — whether you’re shopping for your own baby or choosing a heartfelt gift for someone expecting.

Allergies are a common health issue, especially among babies. According to the World Health Organization, 1 in every 5 children experiences allergic reactions. Considering how fragile the balance of nature has become globally, it is unfortunately no surprise that new types of allergies are constantly emerging in our lives.

Naturally, the first solution that comes to mind is to stay away from chemicals as much as possible. When it comes to protecting our baby’s delicate skin, the choice of clothing becomes extremely important. Clothes made from fabrics like nylon or polyester, dyed with synthetic dyes and based on petroleum-derived materials, significantly increase the risk.

In baby clothing that is not made from organic materials, toxic chemicals can be found in all products—from onesies and hats to bibs and newborn sets. These items are often treated with a variety of chemicals, including wrinkle-resistant, flame-retardant, and shrink-preventing agents. And unfortunately, these substances leave behind residues that do not wash out, even after many washes.

Babies and young children are especially vulnerable to the effects of these toxins due to their still-developing immune systems. Their skin is also five times more permeable than that of adults, making it easier for these harmful substances to penetrate their bodies. Scientific studies have shown that long-term exposure to these toxic chemicals can lead to allergies, brain damage, and even cancer in babies.

As a brand producing organic clothing for babies and children, our sensitivity and responsibility begin right here. During our production process, we never use any petroleum-based materials or toxic chemicals such as bleaches, softeners, or preservatives.

We believe that our most precious treasures—our children—deserve only the best and the highest quality. We take great pride in the fact that every stage of our production, from manufacturing to packaging, is 100% organic and certified at the international level. Our clothing is produced in our Topkapı İplik factory, Turkey’s first organic cotton producer with over 44 years of textile experience, and meets the highest standards of quality and care.

For farmland to qualify for organic production, no chemical pesticides or harmful substances must be used for at least three years. With this awareness, our baby collection was created with the intention of protecting nature first—because the future of our children depends on it.

If you would like to take a step into an organic world for your little one, we invite you to visit our website and explore our collections.
